Help me earn my certification while I support your pet’s wellbeing!
I am currently pursuing my Small Animal Massage Therapist certification through the Northwest School of Animal Massage (NWSAM). As the final step in my program, I must document 25 "Case Studies." These are documented massage sessions that allow me to apply various approaches and techniques to a variety of pets. Each session is charted and submitted to my instructor for review.
Massage is therapeutic care that can:
Provide essential support for the immune, circulatory, lymphatic, respiratory, and digestive systems.
Reduce muscle tension and lower anxiety.
Manage chronic discomfort, joint pain or immobility.
Support long-term health, wellness and vitality.
Cost: These sessions are offered at no cost as part of my course curriculum.
Location: I am a mobile service. I come to your home so your pet can remain in a familiar, low-stress environment.
Insurance: I am fully insured through Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP).
Duration: Expect 45 to 75 minutes. This includes a health history intake, rapport building, and the massage itself.
The "Lead-Follow" Method: Your pet does not need to obey commands or sit perfectly still. If they need to get up and take a break, we let them! This builds trust and ensures the session is collaborative.
“Wiggly Squiggly” pets: Many pets settle into massage therapy right away, but some will take a few sessions to feel comfortable with a new person and with accepting massage. I work at your pet's pace and follow their lead. My ability to affect change in your pet is directly related to the level of trust I build with them, so I am constantly monitoring their body language and adjusting my approach so they feel comfortable.
Your Role: For the first session, I ask that you stay in the room. Your calm presence helps your pet feel secure while they get to know me. Following the massage, be sure to provide plenty of fresh water, a potty break, and if applicable, a short, gentle walk.
To give your pet the best experience:
Quiet Space: Choose a calm area with limited activity and distractions.
Timing: Please avoid feeding your pet for two hours prior to our appointment.
Potty Break: Ensure they’ve had a chance to go potty before the session.
Possibly! While I need to work with a variety of animals, I also need to document how massage helps over time. If you’re interested in a series of 3–4 sessions, let’s chat!
I’d love to meet your four-legged family member!
